Buffalo Police Probe Thursday Night Shooting, Man Hospitalized

Buffalo Police detectives are investigating a shooting on the city’s East Side that left a 39-year-old man hospitalized late Thursday night. Officers were dispatched to the first block of Crossman Avenue, located near Genesee Street, just before 9:00 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

Victim Transported to ECMC Following Crossman Avenue Shooting

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper thigh. He was promptly transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) for urgent medical attention. As of Friday morning, police officials have not released an updated status on his condition or the severity of the injury.

The Buffalo Police Department’s Gun Violence Unit has taken the lead on this investigation. This incident marks another night of violence for the community, occurring in close proximity to a deadly shooting reported Wednesday night near Schiller Park.
